Passive Income – Great for Freelance Writers!

May 14th, 2012 | By | Category: Writing Tips

The last couple of weeks I’ve been on vacation. You probably didn’t realize this because, before I left town, I set most of my business to work on auto-pilot. The Morning Nudge went out every weekday morning – as usual. My weekly newsletter, Build Your Business Write, was sent to everyone on my mailing list each Tuesday – as usual. Articles, announcements, and other items for this site were scheduled for posting at various times over the last two weeks, too, – as usual.

It took careful planning to make sure everything was in place before I left for vacation. But it was well worth it. My husband and I were able to enjoy ourselves with friends in beautiful Park City, Utah, then visit our son and daughter-in-law in Ft Collins, Colorado, without having to worry about business.

But here’s the best part.

Every day I was on vacation I was still earning income, even though I wasn’t working. That’s because I’ve included many passive income streams (and residual income streams) within my business. With passive income streams (and residual income streams), I’m not always trading my time for money. I set something up once, then it continues to earn income for weeks, months, even years to come.

As a freelance writer, many times I AM trading my time for money. But that’s just the nature of some of the work I do – magazine writing, for example. Yet it’s nice to know I don’t have to rely solely on that kind of income. You shouldn’t either, which leads me to ask:

Are you earning passive income?

If so, good for you. You’ve making good use of your time and efforts as a freelancer and solopreneur!

If not, what’s stopping you?

It isn’t that difficult to set up at least a couple of passive income streams or residual income streams. Why not make that your top priority this week?

Try it!

P.S. Setting up your own membership site is a great way to earn residual income. And now, here’s a really EASY way to do it!

Jimmy D. Brown, the guy who started the PLR (private label rights) industry, has released a “ready-to-go” PLR package to an entire membership site! This has never been offered before and it includes EVERYTHING you need to get started, including private label rights to the membership content, its sales letter, presell report, articles and other marketing materials.

In other words, you get to buy a license to everything, set it up as your own membership site and keep 100% of every sale you make!

Grab yours now as there is only a limited number of licenses being offered. Once they are gone, they are gone for good. Jimmy is very well known for keeping his promises on limits. No exceptions.

  1. The first holiday is the hardest. After that you learn when to go, where to go with good wifi coverage, or whether to arrange someone to cover, or whether it’s ok to take a complete break.
I like to go to Asia because it’s so cheap there. It’s actually cheaper to live there in a hotel than it is back at home. So if I stay for long enough and rent out my apartment in the UK I actually save money by being on holiday!
I’ve found the best time to go on vacation for a freelancer is between December and February. Things naturally slow down a bit then.
