Seduced by History?

Jan 15th, 2012 | By | Category: In the Spotlight

Are you fascinated by days gone by?

Interested in crafting a romance but don’t know what era to put them in, or what the primary focus should be?

The list of time periods and places is just about endless, which of course makes the task of choosing that much more difficult.

But what if you were to settle on the United States, perhaps during the Revolutionary War times, or just after. That would be a good start, but you still need a focus, something a bit different.

The Hearts Through History Blog is a rich source for historical ideas of all kinds. As a blogger for Hearts Through History, Joan Maze recently decided to do a series of themes, each one for two or three months. Currently, Maze is writing about Presidents and what they served at their table. This last week, January 9th, her article was about George Washington and revealed the astounding variety of foods served at his table.

Can you imagine a young woman managing to secure a job in the kitchen? To such a person, that type of position could be both exciting and frightening. Enter a dashing young hero, perhaps even a spy in disguise, and you would have both a romance and an intrigue.

Stop by and see what Hearts Through History has to offer.

  1. Thanks for the “heads up” on this source of historical info! :-)

  2. Just had to come back and say that the very first article I saw there was immensely interesting and may end up being helpful to me (as a descendant of Scots-Irish coal miners who emigrated to Maryland .. REALLY an excellent source of historical info. THANKS again and again for sharing it. :-)
